so you've all been nagging me for updates.
i've had nothing to update on don't you get it!?

so i decided to steal trang's latest blog entry and tell u a little more about theee mizzmai

1. i believe my shoe obsession derives from the fact that as a 3 year old child i would walk in my mother's heels EVERY day after school.
2. the fact that i'm also the biggest girly girl u could ever meet is because my mother was my bff & my idol - i love everything about being a girl; hair, perfume, nails, makeup, clothes, shoes, bags, jewelery, photos, underwear...
3. when i was a child my brother's would never play with me because (a) i was a girl and (b) i was too young and they thought i was a hazard - so i used to play games with myself.
4. one of the games i used to play was to fart into a a messenger tube to see how long the smell would be kept. i found it extremely amusing.
5. i am insecure about who i am and what i bring to the world. this may be due to endless years of bullying and out casting. i know i'm fabulous. i just wish other people could see it. LOL.
   
6. i am a water baby and a motion baby.
7. ben is the best thing that's ever come into my life. i do believe he is my soul mate.
8. i have a contradictory mind in that i act like a four year old but talk like Samantha Jones from SATC.
   
9. probably the most traumatizing experience i had was at year 5 camp - when the girls i shared a cabin with accused me of "playing" with myself during the night. it's because i suffer from eczema in which i scratch & roll around in my sleep. i was sleeping on the top bunk. and to make it worse ben's younger sister was in the group of mean girls.
10. i am an EXTREMELY emotional person. and i have never ending tear ducts.
11. even though i'm an extreme girly girl - i love everything ghetto, grimy and raw. sneakers, hip hop and dance movies are an extreme love.
12. i am forever stubborn. don't fight it. i just am.
13. i still keep my childhood loves such as babysitters club books, stuffed toys and clothes. i can't bear to part with them because i fought so hard to get them. ESPECIALLY the babysitters club.
14. i can't wait for the day that i make my mark in the events industry. i want everyone to associate my name with events.
15. the name on my birth certificate is Mylene Nguyen Vo. this is a constant problem because up until last year i thought my name was Mylene Nguyen.
16. i love surprises. therefore i believe everyone else should.
17. i adore the simpsons. i've been watching them since childhood and can't stop. i wonder whether as a child there were subliminally profoundly rude jokes.
18. as a child of only three months i nearly died. my brother was meant to be looking after me while i slept in the hammock. he wanted to go outside and play with his friends instead. i ended up throwing up on myself but unconsciously turn on my side. i could of choked on my own vomit and died.
19. i adore sleeping. it's my favorite thing to do next to shopping.
20. chaos and organisation go hand in hand for me.
21. i love food. all food and i'll try anything once.
22. i go to the toilet everyday and freak out if i don't.
23. when i was younger i believed i was adopted out of the garbage bin behind the local milk bar because my brother's told me so.
24. during high school i loved and participated in all sports including european handball, softball, baseball, netball and soccer. i was always in defense/goals.
25. my ultimate dream is to go to new york for my 21st birthday. unfortunately this won't happen. but hopefully one day.

the shopping addiction

ok so my spending lately has been a little more excessive than usual...

it's not my fault everywhere i love wants to throw things at me so cheap ;)

the bags & the items

so last friday annie & i heading out for a day of girlfriend shopping.
our first stop bright and early in the morning was bardot abbotsford - they were having a current season stock clearance & we wanted in!
prices were cheap, fitting room lines were long and some of the current season clothes i've seen in store and loved pretty much 50% off! loves it ;]
after bardot we filled our bellies with japanese cuisine on bridge road before conquering cotton on factory outlet, some other random stores and of course brand direct for all your underwear needs!

then the other day i went out to watergardens and bought a new wallet, a new ring and some uniform necessities for work. i only went to get the stuff for work. but i decided what the hell. i need a new wallet (since the last one i had got stolen and i've been using an old one that i had in like year 12) - and i've been eyeing this one for a while. and the ring is just gorgeous. fell in love <3

and so then we come to today. chadstone vip shopping day.
of course i wanted to get in early so i decided to go when the stores opened @ 9am.
ben had uni in the morning so i picked him up, dropped him off and went off to do some damage.
was there for longer than i thought. two hours turned into four & i thank ben for being so patient and doing some productive work whilst i shopped until satisfied :) i love you babe!

so over three days, this is my list of new things:

• bardot: three tops, three dresses, a scarf, a pair of earrings and a pair of sandles.
• globalized: two mooks tees, a stussy tee and a pair of grab harem pants.
• priceline: intimately beckham for her.

i think my wardrobe is officially revamped. from now on i will resist the temptation to shop randomly and when i feel the urge i shall only window shop. and when i feel the urge to buy i shall ask myself "do i really need this? what about new zealand?!"

for those that are unaware i plan to take ben to new zealand for a congratulations on your graduating/happy 23rd birthday! :D i am EXCITED to say the least!

i gotta say i am bummed. i really did want beat freaks to win.
and i ain't guna bitch and rant about how it's rigged, because quest crew left their hearts on the stage for their final performances. and from that - they deserve to win.
i feel so sad though, because i mean beat freaks went out there every week and left their hearts on the stage and DEFINITELY represented for the ladies. and i mean they were STRONG.
i don't know but i highly doubt that any other female crew is going to be able to come on and kick it the way beat freaks did. *sigh* is there any way that females are going to be recognized in the hip hop world? i mean i know it's just a tv show but really there is an underlying tale to the female vs. male battle.

wardrobe malfunction

how many celebrities how many times?

britney has done it again, her downstairs female bits exposed to the world.
on her latest circus tour, miss spears - in tampa, florida on sunday (march 8th) ripped her leotard, accidentally exposing her naked crotch to the audience.
brit has just finished performing I'm A Slave 4 U and was being lowered beneath the stage when she revealed her costume blunder.
to make matters worse she didn't realise her mic was still on when she screamed out "my pussy was hanging out!" - letting the whole arena hear as well.
but like a trooper she refused to let it slow her down - completing her costume change and continuing on with the show.

now just because she's a celeb don't mean she ain't human. if anything it makes us realise that she's just like us.

girly movie night

so the premiere screening of confessions of a shopaholic was on tonight & it's fair to say that everyone had a better time than expected.
our last premiere - bride wars, was an awesome movie and the goodie bag hit the right spots. some of us were skeptical this time, that we might receive the same goody bag and the movie may be mediocre. i'm glad that neither was true.

so i picked up annie after leaving ben's house in the afternoon and we headed into the city to pick up jenna. thank god it was a public holiday today. last time the traffic was horrendous, we went from spencer street to kings street in about 30 minutes. yuck.
we headed to victoria gardens and to our surprise arrived at 6pm. the movie didn't start till 7pm, so we decided to get some food whilst waiting for trang and lynh to both come from their respective boys houses.

aiming to get a "proper" meal we decided to go into a little cafe instead of mcdonalds or subway.
ordering a chicken parmargiana (parmasana to some :P), a chicken caesar salad and some drinks we sat and chat. then groaned about how our food was taking too long. then chatted, then groaned some more. after what seemed like a forever wait - our meals arrived. jenna shared with both me and annie - as she didn't want to fill up because, as usual her man was waiting at home with dinner *smiles* SO SCHWEETTT. trang came and joined us 10 minutes before the movie was about to start, and lynh right on the dot. talk about close baby duck!

the movie was so good. lots of laughs & isla fisher is pretty adorable - she does us aussie's proud, and with a good (fashionable ?) wardrobe. i expected their to be a bit more labels thrown around though, but the movie held alotta story line, which is a change. a good change.
my favorite scene is the festival dancing. HI-LA-RIOUS. if i could, i woulda ROFL. instead i RAIMCL (Rolled-Around-In-My-Chair-Laughing).
there were so many other scenes i loved - like the fighting over the pucci boots - the frozen emergency credit card. oh and i LOVE the purple dress she buys.
overall the night was great. good company, great laughs and a good ol' chick flick.

i would recommend the movie to anyone, it ain't just a chick flick. there was an old man in the back row who seemed to LMAO more than once on allota occassions. take a look at the trailer:

N and V (wow shocker) at the gallery in Brooklyn. He stood around while she made coffee for customers. Yawn. D, and his dad (lame!) eating at John’s Pizzeria on Bleecker. We’d make some rude comment about how there has to be pizza in Brooklyn but John’s is just really good. We understand the trek. C at the King Cole Bar Club. It looked like he was meeting with a business associate or something. J and Jeric seeing He’s Just Not That Into You. Oh, J. Thank goodness you have such good friends to go with you to that movie. Seeing HJNTIY alone would just be tragic…

Spotted: Valentine’s Day Special (sorry it’s so late!) D and J at Trader Joe’s in Brooklyn. They were picking up cooking supplies. A Humphrey family Valentine’s Day celebration? I don’t know whether to “aw” or to “ugh.” S and B seeing Becky Shaw on Broadway and then dining at Le Bernardin. Does that mean S was B’s Valentine? And vice versa? Interesting…N and V walking arm in arm at Central Park. No word on what their actual date consisted of. But a walk in Central Park? Whatever. I’m not even jealous anymore. Jeric at Peter Caine’s Narnia exhibit at the Derek Eller Gallery in Chelsea. Geeky but totally cute. My love for Jeric wil never die! C getting into his limo near his apartment building. No idea where he was going. Hmm…Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

D and V at the Happy Ending Music and Reading Series with Glen Hansard at Joe’s Pub. N putting up lacrosse flyers around the halls of St. Jude’s. Yay! Spring time is almost here (um, I guess it doesn’t matter that there’s snow on the ground…). The hottest guys play lacrosse! J at Mood Fabrics. No, she’s not putting together another guerilla fashion show (though I secretly wish she was – it was so cool!). J is the costume mistress for the play. Boring. S, C, E and Lily dining at JoJo on the UES. Aww, don’t you love van der Bass QT?

wow. i love sailor moon! like i really do.
googling my past childhood addiction tonight made me realise how much i really do.

OMG to the MAX

so trang leaves me random offline messages on my msn, they're usually links or comments to entertain me (and herself).
i couldn't get over the latest one she sent.
this 15 year old girl - Charice Pempengco from the phillipines has the voice of a divine angel. truly talented this gift is something that she is born with, it can't be manufactured or synthesized.
these performances gave me endless chills. it puts me on the verge of tears that she is so humble about her talent, not an ounce of arrogance. it's so admirable to see the younger generation that isn't all about the bling, the money or the fame. she's just doing what she loves.

but charice - now 16, has more to her than just a beautiful spine tingling voice. a special interview with oprah shows us the courage, strength and determination that charice has. i am truely smitten by this young girl, so may be 16 in age, but she is so much more mature than many of us "adults" are.

i love most types of music - and i'm a big fan of versatile albums i don't want every song i listen to sound the same - i do get bored easily... although my main genre of preference is r&b i'm always an easy listener when it comes to popular music - i love the countdowns and perhaps my popular roots are due to my years and years of being spice girl baby :]

the past few days i'm really loving natalie bassingthwaighte's current album, 1000 stars. such easy listening and there are some catchy feel good songs. i give it a thumbs up!
one of my favorite on-repeat songs is someday soon - you might've heard it on the radio, it's got that pop, dance, loving life vibe that i love to pump super loud whilst i'm cruising 'round in Sasha.
try youtubing or streaming her album - you might be surprised.

the final two

as ABDC comes to a close this weeks episode was AMAZING!
hearts were left on the stage, standing ovations given and tears flowed as the final two were announced.

in this weeks challenge the crews had to incorporate five major hip-hop dance styles into their longest routine ever. from tutting, waving, krumping, housing and threading, all crews would perform to the same music master mix.
this is the hip hop decathlon challenge.

BEAT FREAKS
voted this weeks number one crew the ladies of beat freaks made it into the finale show! and rightly so! i want these ladies to take it homeeeeee. this week wasn't their best performance but i'm hoping those who have been watching from the start know how consistent these ladies have been.


QUEST CREW
these boys have been on, and then off this season. they've had the memorable and the not so memorable. after being told by the judges to step it up in the last few weeks, these boys came out, ripped their hearts from their chest and left it pounding on center stage. this was their sickest performance yet, the boys of Quest are in it to win it.


FLY KHICKS
the underdogs of the season these ladies have been underestimated each week, but have perservered into the top three. this week was a challenge none the less, and unfortunately the ladies were outperformed. they held their heads (and their sneakers) high as their banner fell and they exited the show.



so the final two have been announced!
next week BEAT FREAKS and QUEST CREW will head into a do or die finale to determine who will be
AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW.
it can only be one crew... so who will you chose? voting is still open until March 5th, and yes, I AM VOTING (even though i'm an aussie).
