sytycd top 18

so alot was expected from this week as last week was phenomenal.

sadly, i must say i was underwhelmed :( the couples didn't impress me as much as they did last week, some of my favorite couples disappointing me imensely.
judge it for yourself.

TOP 18 PERFORMANCE SHOW


this week randi & evan performed a jive - super FUN; love the versatility of these two dancers.

melissa & ade performed a sonya tayeh jazz routine. we all remember sonya from last season's routine "the garden" with mark and courtney. this routine was just as rocking.

caitlin & jason are one of my fave couples but i was underwhelmed with this weeks shane sparks hip hop routine. it had the potential to be so much better than it was. :(

janette & brandon were DISCO DIVAS this week. awesome disco routine and one of THE fastest ones EVER in the history of sytycd.

this waltz that asuka & vitolio did was so heart wrenching. it touched me. but not as much as i thought it would.

i'm really loving kayla - she's quickly becoming one of my faves. this routine was completely different and she plays the princess role so well :)

karla & jonathan were so good this week, but like asuka & vitolio it didn't touch me in a way that i thought it was. top performance though.

i'm really behind jeanine & phillip, although phillip has the fan base i think jeanine is a really awesome dancer. she brings her own in every routine, if anything she might be better than phillip.

ashley & kupono had the same problem as caitlin & jason in their shane sparks hip hop routine this week. they were there. but not completely there. *sigh*

so this week was a bit meh. hopefully they bring it next week.

i'm predicting the bottom three will be:
- randi & evan
- kayla & max
- ashley & kupono

i hate to say it's these three, but i think the others (caitlin & jason - jeanine & phillip) have a bigger following that will push them through into next week :'(
i really hope kayla & max don't get bottom three. kayla is one of my favs, and i really like ashley and even. boo. this sucks.


TOP 18 RESULTS SHOW

so this weeks group routine didn't wow me either. *sigh* i think it's because with the group routines i like comparing each of the dancers, and i couldn't do that with this weeks coz i couldn't tell them apart LOL. mia michaels is awesome but. kudos to her :)

so the bottom three ended up being:
- caitlin & jason; - kayla & max; - ashley & kupono

unfortunately for them. ashley & max were eliminated. :(

nzntm season one

so it's finally over and boy am i happy with the result.
she's been a shining star from the beginning and she's a stunning beauty... all at the age of sixteen.
my favorite throughout the whole competition i'm so happy she won!

take a look at her porfolio, other than perhaps a few shots (swimsuit - 01, the face paint - 04 & michael hill - 06) the rest are fabulous! <3

TOP 20 PERFORMANCE SHOW

here's a look at season 5's top 20. my top 3 are shown in purple :)

first routine of the season left me with a tingly feeling. i totally agree with the judges comments. mmm love. i think phillip & jeanine will be a great couple. they've already got the chemistry!

now even before they hit the stage i knew i would love this couple. asuka got me from her audition and i was routing for her all the way - i love that this girl shows sass, class and spunk and that she's repping asian girls to the tee! vitolio got me from the top 20 announcement where he was completely humbled. i'm routing for both of them to make it to top 10!
altho their performance wasn't as wow as i was hoping. they'll have better routines coming up. :)

now i wasn't too familiar with the next couple. i sorta knew karla but had no clue about jonathan.
looking at the practice footage i'm like oh ok he's a looker, but he's young. probably be meh.
then the song came on, then the started dancing. and i LURVE wat karla's wearing. top class.

thought that evan was so cute from the beginning. when he does his broadway thing he's amazing. randi is known for her many leotards, and it took my by surprised that she's married. this piece is so gorgeous. i love the way their bodies make lines and shapes around the stage. lovely.

not up to par with the rest but still good. tony and paris tried. and individually this routine is tough, and enjoyable. but i agree with the judges. not so memorable compared to the rest of the show. paris has got some ghetto to her tho, loves it.

caitlin is a cutesy. i remember her from the auditions, emotional and sisterly. same goes with jason, but i'm yet to see his personality. i'm scared by the fact they got bollywood. coz everyone is going to compare to joshua and katy. hopefully they do well.
it was good. not great. they started out good, and then i felt that they sorta lost it when the moves got harder and music faster. poor things, such a complex routine first week. A for effort. maybe i missed something? i will watch again. the judges say it was better than i thought. hrmm.

brandon was a controversial one, because of lil c and mia michaels thoughts on him. remember him from the auditions and mary murphy cried her little eyes out? i love janette. her audition was fiery and sassy, loved that split lift. this routine was dreamy and classy. lets fly lets fly away! oh and the dress! poofy and pink. just the way i like ;)

muahaha i love mary, so honest.


didn't remember ashley that much, kinda remember she was a cute girl and her reaction to top 20 in that little red dress. kupono i remember. that awful hair during his audition and he's quite ecentric. he reminds me of mark - must be a hawaiian thing, except i think mark is more personable. don't think they'll be one of my favorite couples tho.
keke. i love the little dog in the routine. the routine was cute, i think it'll be more memorable coz of the costumes, the performance and the entire routine rather than the dancers. i always love wade robson's routines. he's so unique.

don't really kno much about ade and melissa. i only kno that when i saw melissa during auditions - i thought "talia is such a better ballerina, she'll never compare". i still feel that way. but seeing this routine you know with age comes experience, and he lines are amazing. i give her credit. i don't know whether ade is ghetto or not, he seems to be, but he's a contemporary dancer? strange.

so kayla and max. yeh ok. max i think is a bit old, and kayla young. so its like father and daughter. boy was i wrong. they were HOT. love the judges reactions! poor nigel... lol. oh oh and the DRESS!

so judging by tonight, here are my bottom 3:
- asuka & vitolio; - paris & tony; - ashley & kupono

i really hope that askuka & vitolio don't go. i wanna c more from them!

i can't stop watching this tango routine that was featured during the results show. spectacular!

old school era

i've just finished watching the first season of Beverley Hills 90210.

at the beginning i was just watching it for the sake of it. but now i've become really addicted.
the characters are all adorable, and the fashion is ridiculous at times but makes the show how it is!

here are my favorite points about watching this old school drama.




the fashion - it's the first thing you notice compared to tv today, at the beginning it took a while to adjust but now, it just comes with the show. haha. the first ep brandon even has a major mullet!

the long ass intro - 90 second intro compared to today's 10 seconds. it gives those watching the chance to get the popcorn ready before they miss out on anything, unlike today. u miss the first 5 minutes and u miss everything leading into the ep! redonkulous.
i also love the "in stereo, where available" at the beginning LOL!




the characters - each character brings they're own part to the series, and it's funny because watching the end seasons of BH 90210 you have different opinions about certain characters.
e.g. kelly was a snobby bitch princess, brenda was amazingly sweet and donna a total airhead - dylan and brenda make the cutest couple EVER, before the days of dylan and kelly - david silver has a huge infatuation with kelly which weirds me out coz they eventually become brother and sister through marriage, he's also a major dork & i think a year younger? - brandon has a trillion different love interests, literally a new one every episode, if not at least every second.
what i love most is the group camaraderie is amazing, they're always hanging out together, unlike current 90210 where they're all in they're own worlds. they even sit in a circle and have lunch together sometimes!

old school VS. new school

going gaga

so ever since i saw her live just under a week ago i can't get Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta out of my mind. she's everywhere!
i found out that the lady gaga/pcd tour was actually lady gaga's fame ball tour and pussycats doll domination tour shortened. how sucky! they both should've done full tours! don't they realise how popular they are?!

so anyways. here's hoping that lady gaga does come back and give us another awesome tour.
until then, i'm going to have to settle for youtube interviews and watching her music videos.
