Lady GaGa & The Pussycat Dolls

one word to describe tonight's experience would be FABULOUS.

tonight me and the girls headed out to rod laver arena to see miss Lady GaGa and The Pussycat Dolls perform.

with my new camera in hand and uni finally over it was time to let loose and enjoy.
and enjoy we did!

main highlights of the night;

Lady GaGa -
this woman is truly talented. not only does she have an amazing voice but she's so super sweet. she brought the house down with her stunning performances and her amazing vocals.

doing the gaga

favorite line of the night...
*video coming soon*
"you guys know all the words, what do u need me for? i'm just another blonde bitch in some bubbles... but i'm okay with that *giggles*"

The Pussycat Dolls -
PCD was one doll down due to injury - Jessica Sutta couldn't perform coz she had hurt her back earlier in the week - but the girls still rocked on & performed as if there were 5.
there was one point in the concert when there was a dance comp - three different contestants were asked to do the "bottle pop". two young aussie girls and a teen aussie guy were the competitors.
the girls didn't try to do the bottle pop (most likely they were shy and nervous) and the guy just had fun and winged it, shaking his thang on the stage. when asked to cheer for a winner, i thought claps were in order for the girls. but no. the WHOLE arena began to boo. shock horror. the poor things were about to die. obviously the guy won, a tshirt or something, when the whole arena erupted in applause. oh well, u gotta fake it till u make it tru?

the dolls had quite a few costume changes, performed live and danced their asses off.
i was kinda disappointed that they didn't do their solo songs - i woulda loved to have heard ashley
sing live. and they also didn't do all of the songs on their album. they did sing jai ho though which went OFF. all in all an awesome night. =]

*videos coming soon*

shabu shabu

sunday night the cousins & significant others went out for dinner at shabu shabu for dave's birthday celebration.

was quite good. their mocktails were awesome, loved the strawberry one and definitely value for money on both food and drink. although they could've done with some more noodles... i think everyone would agree with me on that one :)

the concept of shabu shabu is a japanese style hot pot.
you choose your soup base and your dipping sauce, and a conveyor belt holds individual serves of food such as noodles, prawns, various meets, vegies etc.
you choose what you would like & put it in your boiling soup in front of you. it's a buffet so we stuffed ourselves full of all sorts of goodies.

i felt sorry for the people sitting next to trang, because we were such a large group we would pass messages down like "noodles coming!" - "anyone want prawns?" LOL.
when the noodles started getting scarce it was every man for himself. but being family we all made sure everyone got a share, leaving none for the couple beside trang.

we're a noisy bunch. and being a japanese place, they're a bit conservative and the other patrons looked at us strangely like we were apes in a century old library... it didn't affect any of us though. :P

after shabu shabu we headed to max brennar melbourne central which disappointed us to a tee.
i'm used to highpoint max brennar so i'm fine with going up and ordering and service to the table.
melbourne central takes your order and brings you service. you think this would be awesome. but we had to keep getting up and asking where our order was.
frustrating much?
in the end all the cousins were so annoyed we short changed them and skipped out. that's what you get for taking 20 minutes for a damn chocolate lick (which is just a pot of melted chocolate!).

overall the good outweighed the bad and as usually embarrassing stories were told. good to have the group out again, it's been a while =]

*note: victor and liz were both preoccupied with the food to take photos, although theie is no photographical evidence of their presence, i do remember them dressing quite sharp because mizzmai told them so :D*

the alcoholics of the group

vent me baby

in university group assignments are always a bitch.
working with the unfamiliar makes anyone nauseous, you don't know if you'll click with the person, how they are in their studies, etc etc.
during my 2 years of uni so far, i haven't had any major problems with group assignments...
till now.

i'm finally doing a course i'm passionate about - event management, i've finally got my act together (sort of) when it comes to uni.
all i need is to do a group assignment consisting of two parts and an oral presentation in the subject of event operations.
all that's in my way - is ezra lagniton aka - the $5 girl - the paper girl - the psycho.

our group was picked from the three girls i was sitting closest too. shirley, ezra and michelle.
shirley after week two, we never saw again, suspected drop out or unknown case of swine flu, who knows.
michelle, a modern day fob - looks like she's aussie, internal fob.
and then there's ezra - the geek with a heart of pure black - acne faced, glasses wearing, helmet lugging average girl, who thinks she superior to the human race. if you were to ask her who's smarter - her or einstein, she'd say herself.

now in high school. you understood why the popular girls acted like they were better than you... in a way, they were - they were prettier, the boys loved them and people flocked over anything they did. ezra would've been the stereotypical outcast, just an average face, not much personality and not the least bit social.
but for some reason, this outcast exterior has the popular girl interior. she speaks to you like your an imbecile beaver that has just crawled out from the ground, and speaks to you like your in kindergarten learning your first words.

so when our group assignment first began, she made sure we all had our parts - assigning me compilation of the assignment and the introduction and event concept. i was happy to do this, as i'm a perfectionist in editing and i came up with the concept.

one weeks later, i hadn't replied to her 5 "check you email" text messages or said yes in reply to her "just making sure we're all doing out parts" emails - 3/4 in one week!
when i finally replied, she claimed quote "you could've texted to emailed me so i would've known you were still breathing or something" and "i am very much relieved that you are still alive". puh-leaseeee. fucken drama queen.

week 8 part one of the assignment was finally due.
i had previously did an all nighter to complete the assignment.
all i was meant to do, was shove our parts together, skim through it to make sure it made sense, spacing, font and page numbers, whack a cover sheet on it and BAM assignment done.
instead, i spent around 4 hours trying to RE-WRITE michelle's entire section, because it made NO SENSE and wasn't properly referenced.
so i had to get the assignment printed in colour, and the printing at the library costs $1 per page in colour. fuck me, watever.
so i got it printed and sent the girls both a text to ask if they could split the costs of printing with me. 15 pages = $15 / 3 = $5 each.

met up with the girls after class so they could sign off on the assignment and both said nothing to me about the money. i felt like shit and just wanted to go home so i forgot about the money. realising when i got home, i sent them an email asking if it was okay for them to give it to me next class.

ezra replied that it was "unfair" for her to pay. and that it was MY fault, because if i sent the assignment to her, she would've gone to her work and got it printed for "FREE".
she then stated, that the second part of the assignment, she will print it at work - and we'd be even... O_o
mind you, she had never mentioned that she could print colour or asked about the printing before this.

so this is when psychotic behaviour began, it was moderately dormant until this event.
last week ezra sent me an email saying "mylene, i have a surprise for you, but i can only give it to you in next weeks class"
w t f - was the first thing that came to my mind, then watever *shrugs*

so last week i went to the lecture and there ezra was. after class she approached me, with a pink supre bag. "here you go, don't ever charge me again" and walks off. i look inside the bag... and what do i find... ???

a block of fuji xerox paper. SHE GAVE ME FUCKING PAPER?!?
i was stunned, like literally. i looked like a stunner mullet had just eaten me and replaced my face.
fuck my life. oh em gee.
i called ben and he couldn't believe it, we pondered in silence - in what way could she possible think i wanted a block of paper, all i asked for was to share the mear cost of printing and she gives me a block of paper? this coming from a girl who works at roy morgan 24/7.

ever since "the paper incident" ezra and michelle don't sit near me in class., or talk to me. they only contact me though email to tell me WHAT to do & HOW to do it.
i'm sorry, but i don't appreciate being treated like an idiot or being looked down upon, and if i've got a problem with you i'll address it. to keep the peace, i tried no to go off and speak to them like how i'm speaking to them on my blog - but both of them wouldn't know my blog or use facbeook so i'm pretty safe.
i could care less what they think of me, but all this drama makes it real difficult considering that we still have part two of the group assignment, and a group oral presentation to do. *sigh*

this week, i was unable to go to class. i msg'd ezra and asked if she could email me the feedback we got for part one of our group assignment.
she did, but i couldn't tell what was HER edits and what were the TEACHERS. because she decided to go all michael angelo on the thing.
she also said in the email, that the presentation of the assignment needed to be better, the referencing and also the design. FUCK ME. i checked the feedback the teacher gave us, all that she mentioned, were my parts, - and all my parts received an excellent rating, her and michelle's parts on the other hand, only very good.

this girl is a narcissistic arrogant and fucked up individual. i have never been so frustrated, shocked or appalled by an individual in my life.

only two more weeks and this shit is over. i hope i never see her face again, and for the sake of every other human on earth i hope this is her last group assignment EVER and that she is taken to the pound and put down to save anyone from the misery that is ezra langiton.

that is all =)

p.s. i would really love to know what everyone thinks... was it unfair of me to ask the girls for money to share the costs? is it unfair that they are blaming me for the "average" (and it's so not average) marks we got on the assignment. is she nutty or is it just me?
